13Nov2013 - Battery Replaced Koyoko

I couldn't start the motor after a trip to Shah Alam, I was thinking probably this bike has been placed in the show room for too long or what so ever. I can't use the electric start, the horn is buzzing when pressed, the meter is not working when I switch on the ignition key except after I kick-start the motor, light weren't bright enough and lack of power during acceleration, it's just different in a sense that you can't hear the popping sound anymore from the exhaust during deceleration.

I went to the bike shop which I have known shop the owner for some time but he didn't open up his shop so I went for a few rounds the shops in SS14 where I found this shop selling nanogel battery which is quite hype ATM. The price is 30% pricey than those normal battery that you can add distilled water to maintain a certain level in order to last longer.

I bought it at Rm138 and replace it by myself with a few simple tool: 10mm ring spanner, 10mm ratchet and a screw driver.

Along the way i found out that the both terminal on the *coil* or *rectifier* (if i'm not mistaken, correct me if I'm wrong - please refer to the photo) that link to the battery terminals weren't tight where my fingers can untigthen it. I suspect that is the cause of the battery is not charging anyway I bought the battery already..

To take the battery plastic case, 4 screw has to be taken off. There another semi round cover above the battery cover which come with 3x 10mm bolts where it covers the terminal cable to the battery terminal. As you can see there is a signal lights flasher and few component that I don't what it is name.

I test out the voltage during idling, keys ON, lights ON (motor not running) and the battery itself.

After everything has been hooked up I left he battery cover unattached. The battery holder is made of steel probably some cast iron or something and if I'm not mistaken there is a CDI (i think it is) attach on the other side which is facing front.

I see no point if put on the battery cover cause the battery is sealed and it doesn't need to top up battery water and it is facing backward.

I hope this help and by the way the bike is just 10 days old..
